Big Sur Jade Pendant Souls of the Deep Collection (3 x 1.5" stone)

The mystery of Big Sur is alluring, and, for centuries, people have appreciated the beauty of one of its most precious stones, Nephrite Jade.
These pieces are not easy to find, as the road is often closed during storms, and the conditions are often challenging. These are completely unique, rare offerings.
As the jade vein is under the Pacific Ocean, the stones, polished by the ocean, were encased in brine when found. A special process was used to carefully remove the brine and reveal their original shapes. They appear "anthropomorphic," and look like individuals, hence the name of the collection: "Souls of the Deep."
The natural Jade forms emulate folds and waves. They come from fault lines in the Earth’s mantle and they are a magical stone that humans have adored since the beginning of their history.
I think that this jade pendant is a Jade "heart," meaning that is was an encased, in tact crystal in a younger form. The color is sort of an olive limon, and it may also have spots of serpentine, because I was careful to retain its shape, and so I couldn't take everything off. It is just a sweet example of the sculptural aspects of jade. It is presented with a custom manzanita branch bead, also made by Sherry Brajcich. The cord color may be changed upon request.
Wear this pendant to keep the strength and beauty of Big Sur with you; or gift this to the one you love.
